Karen Lowell Keezer was born on January 30, 1942 in Hastings, Nebraska the daughter of Howard and Frances McKenna Lowell. When she was a year old they moved to Wood River, Nebraska. She grew up on a farm near Wood River. She attended Wood River elementary and high school,, District -#8, from which she graduate  in 1959.

In 1961 she married Larry Wiseman at Travis Air Force Base in California. Upon his discharge from the service they returned to Wood River. In 1973 she married Charles

As a single parent she raised four children, Kimberly and Janet Wiseman of Grand Island, Nebraska, Robert Wiseman of Hershey, Nebraska and Charles Wiseman of Council Bluffs Iowa .

Most of her adult life she worked in food service, Head Start or Home Health Care.
