Ruth G. Swanson
Mrs. Swanson was born June 3, 1918 at Overton to Dan and Alice (Lavery) Muirhead. She grew up and received here education in Overton and graduated from Overton High School. She attended Kearney State College and taught two years in a rural school.
She was united in marriage to J. Raymond Swanson on June 5, 1938. The farmed in the Overton, Shelton and Wood River area before moving to Wood River in 1964. She worked at the J.M. McDonald Department Store in Grand Island, The Donna Mae Dress Shop and the Bank of Wood River before retiring in 1986.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wood River and United Methodist Women. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening and cooking.
