Emma Bilslend

Mrs. Bilslend was born Aug. 23, 1915 on a farm near Wood River to William and Minnie (Hankel) Klimper. She grew up in the Wood River and Shelton area, where she attended District 9 school, District 7 School and Shelton High School.

She married Loren Bilslend on July 9, 1940, in Grand Island. The couple lived southwest of Wood River until 1980 when they moved to Wood River.

She enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, playing piano and spending time with her family. In the 1930's she played piano for dances in the area and various radio stations with her father who played violin.
