Robert R. Opp Robert R. Opp, 70 of Wood River, Died Sunday, February 24, 2002 at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Mr. Opp was born November 14, 1931 to Christian and Johanna (Moeller) Opp on their farm east of Wood River. He graduated from District #44 and Wood River High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on Feb. 11, 1952 and served at Bryan Air Force Base in Texas where he was a maintenance mechanic. He was honorably discharged on Feb. 10, 1956 with the rank of Corporal. He worked several years for Great Western Sugar Beets and Cornhusker Ordinance Plant. He was united in marriage to Jeannine Coxson on Sept. 1, 1973 at Doniphan. The couple lived their married lives on the family farm east of Wood River. He attended the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wood river. He enjoyed gardening and dancing.
