Walter and Dorothy Webster      


Walter Webster was born September 2,1909 at Gibbon,NE, the son of Carl and Hattie Webster. 
Dorothy (Camp) Webster was born December 29, 1911 at Hampton,NE, the daughter of Lewis and Minnie Camp. Walter and Dorothy were married May 19, 1931 in Phillipsburg, Kansas. They raised three sons, Jim, Dick and John and one daughter Edith Marlea. Walter was a prominent farmer near Gibbon NE, raising corn and potatoes. They moved to the farm east of Wood River on March 19, 1947, where they lived until retiring and moving into a new home in Wood River, NE.

Dorothy was an active member and President of the Wood River Women's Club and was active in the United Methodist Church Women's Groups. For many years her beautiful flowers graced the alters on Sundays and her floral arrangements decorated the stage at many graduations. He love of flowers could be seen in the many beautiful beds around their home.

They enjoyed large family dinners and entertaining friends. They had 12 grand children, 25 great grand children and 2 great-great grand children. 

They also enjoyed traveling and truly enjoyed viewing the Sand Hill Cranes around migration and the large flock of Wild Turkeys south of Wood River.

They were together in marriage 64 years.
